I’m sewing for spring even though a) it’s still pretty chilly, b) we’re not allowed to leave the house and I’ve got nowhere to wear these outfits… But I’m not letting that stop me!
My latest make is the Hettie skirt from the most recent Fibre Mood magazine – it’s a simple gathered tiered skirt. It felt like something that would be good wardrobe addition especially since I always feel like I’m lacking in the separates department.
I was gifted the choice of 2m of fabric from Stoff and Stil and picked out a lovely pink large scale floral satin. It was too pretty to resist!
The Hettie skirt was super simple to sew together but I did make some small changes to the pattern. I think it’s designed to be floor length on someone tall and I changed it to be midi length for a petite person! I also added a lining that covered the inside of the topmost section as I was concerned about the close fitting topmost section showing too many lumps and bumps!
It’s not what I would consider my “normal style” though to be fair that’s a concept that is constantly changing. I do think it’s really pretty and I can absolutely see it becoming an essential part of my summer wardrobe!
