The Fleur Pinafore // Untitled Thoughts

I tested the Fleur pinafore from Untitled Thoughts a couple of weeks ago and it’s already been released! (Props to Brittani for working so hard to get it turned around and ready for the public!)

This pinafore dress is designed to be a low waste, easy to fit utility dress – the kind of thing you throw on to do the gardening!

The pattern is basically comprised of lots of rectangles. Because of its simple nature, Brittani offers a “no print” option where she lists the rectangle sizes which you can then draw out directly on the fabric. Such a good idea!

I made a size 6 in a cotton twill from my stash! The cotton is Japanese from the brand Kokka and has a lovely paisley print on a burgundy background.

The dress closes with buttons at the waist and the bib and has patch pockets everywhere!

As you can imagine it’s a simple sew and really as long as you’ve got your correct waist measurement there no reason for this not to fit straightaway!

I do think I look like I’m 6 years old but I’m kinda digging it! 😂

I constructed my bib straps slightly differently to the instructions as I placed the buttons on the bib itself and shortened the straps to fit. Once I knew where I needed the buttonholes, I trimmed the strap ends, folded them over twice and topstitched it down.

Sometimes sweet and simple is exactly what you want!
