A DIY no sew leather bucket bag

I was recently gifted a leather bag kit to test by Esther of Leather Needle Thread and oh em gee it’s amazing!

These kits contain everything you need to make yourself a leather bag from scratch. The only thing you need to add yourself is a hammer and a hard surface to set the rivets against! The kits include all the instructions, leather pieces, straps, rivets, buckles and O rings as well as a few rivets and leather scraps for practice!

The main body pieces are pre punched with specially cut slots to weave leather straps through. These are then held in place with the rivets. The straps are all cut to size and pre punched too so there’s no need to cut, punch, skive anything.

I tested the stitch-less leather bucket bag in the chestnut brown colourway. It took me about an hour start to finish to complete it!

The leather is pretty thick so the bag has a lot of body and feels really sturdy. It’s my new favourite bag! It’s a bit open at the top so I really want to add a more secure pouch to attach on the inside for any small bits and valuables.

Both this bucket bag and the mini crossbody bag kit are on pre-order sale now with 20% off. You can check out the variety of colours here – they’re all beautiful!
