Did you go to the fair this year?
I made a brief stop there for the first time this year when it was on a couple of weeks ago!
If you don’t know the Handmade Fair is, it’s an annual craft fair hosted by Kirstie Allsop featuring a ton of craft store (both finished products and supplies), daily workshops and a food market. I didn’t get a chance to sample the workshops this time around as I had an entry only ticket which meant access only to the shopping area – my favourite bit!
It’s held at Hampton Court Palace (well it’s on the grounds anyway. It’s actually a fair way away from the palace itself…) in an array of marquee tents and OMG it was busy. Absolutely chockablock full of eager crafty people trying to get their hands on the latest items on offer. It got a little scary at one point…
I didn’t actually buy anything craft related in the end. Don’t get me wrong, everything was beautiful! There were loads of really tempting things on sale – some amazing fabrics; I even saw an awesome denim printed with pugs, and all the stamping kit available were drool worthy – but nothing jumped out enough to make me want to actually spend money. There was definitely lots to inspire though and who knows, maybe one day I’ll have a stall there! 🙂
