I always say it but how quickly is this year flying by? Seven months have already gone and I feel like I’m always playing catch up with all my plans!
Anyway, here’s a round up of July!
In the news…
I’ll be holding my first workshop next month! I’ve been invited to teach a t-shirt sewing class on Sunday August 12th at The New Craft House. We’ll be makin classic tees and then personalising them with embroidery using the Pfaff computerised sewing machine. It’s a perfect way to ease yourself into sewing with knits (on a regular machine) if you’re feeling scared! Join me if you can!
I attended the opening party for the first Fabric Godmother pop up shop at The New Craft House.
Josie brought down rolls upon rolls of fabric for us Londoners to peruse. I ended up buying way too much as usual but it was so hard to resist all those ex-designer fabrics! I can’t wait to see them up!
My episode of The Stitchers Brew podcast came out! I spent a wonderful afternoon a couple of months ago, nattering on with Jen (@gingerthreadgrl), Gabby and Megan and the result of that is now out! Check it out here if you fancy hearing four girls giggle for an hour… 😂
I went to the Design Museum for the first time in order to see the amazing Azzedine Alaïa exhibition. Kate (@timetosew) joined me for a day out amongst the glamorous gowns. It’s on until the 7th October so there’s still time to go!
Here are some of my highlights!
I was lucky enough to have been gifted a course at I Can Make Shoes and I spent a weekend making a pair of heels! Check out my review here!
What I’ve been watching/ reading/ listening to…
Ah, this month has been all about competition on the telly. We all got caught up in the football World Cup (I genuinely thought football was coming home for a moment… 🤣). The air in London was just buzzing for a few weeks!
On Netflix, I’ve been watching their new baking show on called Sugar Rush where bakers compete against the clock for $10k. The second season of GLOW cane out too which I binge watched in a matter of days. It was so funny! I’d highly recommend it!
I’ve recently finished reading The Cows by Dawn O’Porter which I really enjoyed. It’s a story of three women, their relationship with social media and a lot of feminism. In a good way.
What have you all been up to this month? X
