Prepping for a music festival!

Today I’m on my way to my favourite music festival in the world- Glastonbury!

If you don’t know what it is, it’s a five day music and arts extravaganza out in Somerset, UK. It’s huge, it’s pretty much an entire pop up town in the middle of a farm set up to house and entertain over 100,000 festival goers. It’s amazing!

This is the third time where I’ve been lucky enough to get tickets so I’m a (relative) pro at doing the whole living in a tent for five days without a proper bathroom…

What I tend to struggle with is what to wear!

You don’t want to take stuff which is really dear to you because, well, accidents happen! One piece playsuits, jumpsuits, dungarees are not a great idea because portaloos… Everything is going to get muddy and dirty. It can be really warm during the day (if the British summers hold out) and really cold at night. And of course rain!

So you’ve got to try to select outfits and layers to suit all weathers, keep you warm and dry and look funky! The funky thing is optional though I suppose…

I have red wellies that I wear to festivals – an essential for muddy fields! I love them but I don’t tend to wear a lot of red and I find it really hard to match clothes to them.

A few of my makes I knew would be great. My embroidered Morgan jeans, basic tees and camisoles, my Linden sweater dress. After that things got a little tricky!

I hate doing it but I ended up panic making a few items…

That’s a new Sabrina dress from By Hand London (I’m in love with this pattern), a decorated Briar tee, another Linden sweater and some striped culottes.

Hopefully they’ll get their own blog posts – the culottes especially! – when I have time in future!

Check them out on my Instagram stories over the next few days!

  1. Wow! You have some great pieces! You’re going to look fabulous each day of your outing! I really love that last (the black with daisies!). Can’t wait to see you in it!

  2. Great wardrobe. I ran out of time planning so only made one tshirt & grabbed whatever I could fit in my back pack. Hope u enjoyed festival as much as me…although I’m still sat in car park after 3 hours waiting to get out!

    1. Lol. It was so good!! I love Glastonbury!
Ah! We left after Ed Sheeran – still took us an hour just to leave the car park though! Hope you get out soon!
