A ruffled Linden sweater dress with Chat Chocolat

Today I’m sharing another Grainline Studio Linden sweater dress! This is the third one I’ve made for myself (check out my first one here!) and it is, as always, an absolute classic.

I chose to use this pattern again to show off a great new fabric from Chat Chocolat who has just released her new prints for the season!

The cost burgundy sweatshirting I picked out is covered with a fun poodle 🐩 screen print – a bit of whimsy for the autumn!

I cut a standard size 10 and added 15cm to the length of the bodice pieces and shortened the sleeves by 5cm. (If you’re any taller than I am, I’d recommend adding at least 20cm to the length as this is very mini on me!).

I added in seam pockets but have somehow ended up making them too low down. You’d have thought I’d have worked out the best placement of these by now!

For this make, I made a little addition of a ruffle into the front raglan sleeve seam in the burgundy rib I used for the cuff and hem pieces. It does the double duty of telling me which way round the dress goes and also adds a feminine touch!

Does anyone else want to sing Raspberry Beret by Prince when you see this outfit? I know it’s not a beret but something about the colour of this dress just makes me play that song over and over in my head!! 😂

Head to here to see the rest of the Chat Chocolat collection and where you can buy it!

  1. I love this sweater dress on you Emily! Ironically I was dreaming about making myself one of these over the past couple of days. I have the Nina Southbank pattern that I meant to make up last year but never got around to it. It’s your fabric that really makes this dress amazing! Love the ruffle too – you’ve inspired me to the moon this morning 🙂
