The Pumpkin cardi review

The new Cocowawa sewing pattern has landed!

The Pumpkin cardigan and cardi dress is the perfect transitional weather item. It’s made using knits and comes with so many versions and options your head will spin!

It comes in two lengths – cardigan length or dress length; regular sleeves, cuffed sleeves or sleeveless; two necklines; optional welt pockets or in seam pockets. The list goes on!

I was lucky enough to test this pattern so I made mine a couple of weeks ago!

I used a striped knit I got from Walthamstow market before I went on holiday. It’s quite a weighty knit but it must have some Lycra content because it was super stretchy!

I chose to make the cardi version of this pattern with the V neck and full sleeves. I opted to not put pockets in as I felt the stretchiness of the fabric would just end up pulling everything out of shape.

The style of the cardigan/ dress is quite fitted at the bust and getting a lot roomier around the hips. I made a straight size 12.

Sewing it up was pretty quick! The button band, neck and hem are all separate pieces and simply put together. I have a feeling the hard part would’ve been the welt pockets but I managed to avoid that!

This is how mine turned out!

Check out my stripe matching!!

The shape is great for anyone looking to have a bit more give around the hips!

The pattern is another lovely simple sew. The hard bit is picking out what optional extras you want on it!
