My 2017 #makenine so far!

So I’m in a little bit of a sewing lull at the moment so I thought I’d take a bit of time to see where I am in one of my self imposed challenges this year!

The Make Nine challenge started on Instagram by Rochelle of the Lucky Lucille blog and is designed to set yourself goals to work towards through the year.

I picked out a bunch of mostly new to me patterns just to push myself to use them!

So I’m just under halfway through my list which isn’t too bad considering we’re halfway through the year!

I’ll be honest I’m not sure I’m going to make the Doris dress from Sew Over It. I had such a bad experience fitting their wrap dress, that I’m super concerned about how it would fit! I just worry I’d be wasting my time and fabric trying to make this one!

I’ve got fabric for ready for the Cascade duffle coat so that’s definitely going to happen come autumn I hope!

I’ll be on the lookout for fabric options for the Karri dress and Belladone dress over the next month. I really want to get those two done!

The plan for a new Mélilot shirt is still in the works as well as a couple new pairs of Morgan jeans.

I’ve clearly got lots to do!

Now I just need to get on with it…

  1. I made the Ultimate Shift Dress by Sew Over It – I found it a little small when I made up the muslin so I made my garment in a knit and it was perfect! So perfect I wear it all the time and keep thinking need to make myself a few more of those 🙂 That made me quite a Sew Over It fan but I’ve not tried any of her others – I’ve ordered fabric from her as well and always been very happy with it.

    1. Hmmm… I think it’ll be worth me trying out another SOI pattern at some point to see. I just had such a bad time of it when I made their wrap dress that I just don’t think I suit their patterns!!
