DIY dressmaking + crafts with Emily

Monthly roundup #9

Autumn has well and truly hit us here in the UK. The leaves have turned colour and the temperature has fallen dramatically. It’s definitely time to start wrapping up warm!

In the news…

This month was the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace. It was the first time I managed to go to this one – I’ve always seemed to miss it before for some reason or another!

I went on the last day of the show and went a bit nuts with all the fabric stores that were there!

I ended up leaving with quite a few bags of fabrics. Check out my YouTube video on my haul here!

These kind of shows are always a lot of fun. It’s always interesting to see what’s going on in the crafting world!

I went to the book launch for the new Named Clothing book Breaking The Pattern! The book isn’t due for general release until mid November but the Finnish sisters Saara and Laura came over to London for a little trip and The New Craft House held a little party to celebrate the new book!

It was lovely to meet the faces behind a brand that I love so much!

I’ve also got an early copy of the new book and it looks amazing! I can’t to wait to make all the new patterns from it!

What I’ve been watching/ reading/ listening to…

The Great British Bakeoff has finished! I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t watched it yet but it was good! All I want to do now is make lots of sugary desserts and cakes! I’ve also been indulging in some awesome Saturday night TV since Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor are back on our screens! 😂

The last book in the Throne of Glass book has finally come out! I managed to finish reading it in a day. My love of young adult fantasy fiction seems to be never ending!

What have you all been up to this month?
