DIY dressmaking + crafts with Emily

Indie pattern overload!

I may have gone a little nuts in the past week but with Easter and the long weekend coming up I went a bit mad buying up all the indie sewing patterns I’ve been coveting from afar!

It’s my own fault though. When they say there’s a flat postage rate I always just figure I might as well get everything I was ever planning to get in one go. It’s economical really…

They’re beautiful! I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth into these.

I also got hold of 2 PDF patterns – the Jamie Christina Sol hoodie and the Closet Case Nettie bodysuit/ dress pattern.

Now I’ve just got to hunker down and get the scissors out!

  1. Oooh now you are tempting me. The Sewaholic trench coat pattern looks like it could be used to make something divine. I haven’t bought any indie patterns (apart from those in Tilly’s book). Now I really want to! p.s. “getting my teeth into these”, hehehe šŸ˜‰

    1. Lol. You should! I’m a big fan of indie patterns. I find the instructions are miles better than the ones from the big companies. At least all the ones I’ve used so far have been good!

  2. I too have been covering the sewaholic coat pattern… I just don’t think my sewing skills are up to it yet šŸ™‚ I have a bad habit I’m trying to break, of using “shortcuts” aka doing things wrong. I just get so impatient… I look forward to seeing what you make with these!

    1. I haven’t made any coats/ jackets before so it’ll be a test of my sewing skills for sure! I just need to find some fab fabric for it. The line drawing looks awesome though so I’m hoping whatever I make looks a bit like it!
